Joe Kessler is the Global Head of UTA IQ, the research, analytics and digital strategy division of leading global talent, entertainment and sports company United Talent Agency (UTA). Kessler oversees a department which uses media intelligence, research and social networking data to support clients across all of UTA.
Prior to UTA, Kessler was President of Deep Focus (DF), a digital marketing agency whose clients included Samsung, Intel, Nestle, and Unilever, among others. Previously, he worked at Creative Artists Agency (CAA) as President of The Intelligence Group (IG), a research and insights firm, and publisher of The Cassandra Report, a syndicated study of consumer trends. During Kessler’s tenure as President of IG, he led the transformation of Cassandra into a digital business information platform and consultancy. Engine Group PLC, parent company of Deep Focus, acquired IG from CAA in 2014.
Prior to that, Kessler held various senior management positions at global communications agency Weber Shandwick, including Chair of the Global Technology Practice and President of US Western Region. He also served on the firm’s Global Executive Committee.
Throughout his career, Kessler has counseled and/or led marketing initiatives for companies including Sony, Disney, Microsoft, AOL, Westfield, Nordstrom, Disney, Cole Haan, MSNBC, IMAX, and others.
